Trey went to Ocean Isle for the weekend on a bachelor weekend and left me and the dogs all alone :( This is a rarity, he never leaves us! We were bummed but decided to stay busy and entertain ourselves.
Not only did he leave us but he sent me gorgeous pictures of his view while I was working. Jealous.
What's the best option of entertainment when your husband is gone? Dinner and a sleepover with your bestie! So I packed up the dogs and my stuff and we headed to Durham to hang out with Christy and Jonthan. Vegas made herself right at home.
From their apartment we walked to dinner at Geer Street Garden... it was so good. If you ever get a chance to go there you have to get the jalapeno, cheddar hush puppies. YUM.
After dinner we all curled up on the couch to watch a movie. Vegas made herself right at home on the bed, since I didn't bring her clam bed she burrowed herself right in to the pillows.
Saturday morning we went to breakfast at Scratch, it was delicious. I got a biscuit (made from scratch) with sausage, egg and pimento cheese. Then we just had to go to monuts for donuts. They have cake donuts (like Dunkin) and yeast donuts (like Krispy Kreme). And to work off all of that food we walked around the Farmers Market.
The dogs and I headed back to Raleigh, regrouped and went to grandma and grandpas (my parents) house! Tyson got his birthday presents that I posted about yesterday and then we went to the NCSU bball game. Then we had a sleepover at grandma and grandpas :) Guess where the dogs slept? Not with me... snuggled up with their grandparents of course.
When Trey finally came home on Sunday we went back to Durham for the Food Truck Rodeo. There were so many choices we didn't even know where to begin. We ended up getting pizza from Pie Pushers and a grilled cheese from the Great American Meltdown I had heard a lot about and had to try. Both were really good. Then we stopped by the Federal for their Michigan tap take over.
When we got home the dogs got to eat the treats that we got for them at the food truck rodeo :) They loved them.

Tyson in 3!
Saturday was Tyson's 3rd birthday! Last weekend we took him and Vegas to lunch at Panera then to Petco to pick out birthday presents. He got another form of a frisbee and he loves it of course.
Then on Saturday, we went to my parent's house and they let him pick his presents out of the bag they came home in. The first thing he picked up was, of course, a new frisbee! He was super excited. Then he found squeaky tennis balls and Vegas found the treats :)

Can't believe my little lap dog is 3!

Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream
The weekend before Halloween we headed to Busch Gardens for Howl-O-Scream. My parents headed up on Thursday with the dogs and the RV then on Friday Chad, Trey, Nana and I headed up together.
We enjoyed relaxing and playing with the dogs Saturday morning. Patrick drove up Saturday morning to meet us and join in on the fun, then we headed to Busch!
We got in line for Apollos Chariot and then realized how not fun it would be to stand in line all day. We decided to buy the Quick Que unlimited pass so that we could jump to the front of the line all day. The boys stayed in line since we had already been waiting and I went to get the quick ques. It was so worth it. We ended up riding most of the rides 3 times, and some of the (non quick-que) wait times were up to an hour and a half!
As night fell the "zombies" started coming out. We were not as impressed this year as we were in years past. In the past there were people hiding in the bushes (dressed like bushes) who scared you as you walked along. This year they had "scare zones" and people in zombie costumes, some with chainsaws that they would rev up every now and then.
It was definitely a good day and we were all exhausted by the time the park closed. I got in a nap on the way home, Sunday, with my pups:

We of course enjoyed a few drinks along the way. They had different bar areas set up throughout the park just for Howl-O-Scream. One of which had jello shots and they were terrible, basically because they were too cold in the fridge and were over congealed.
