Bridal Shower for Kimberly at the Glass Box

Mom and I threw a bridal shower for Kimberly at the Glass Box. It is a gorgeous venue that barely needs any decorating! The only downside was that even with the AC pumping it was warm, it's basically a greenhouse! It has an awesome view, being on the 5th floor of Fayetteville Street. It turned out great.

Gift station & Jenga pieces for the guests to sign
(Kimberly and Chad love to play games)

Cupcakes on the far table. They were actually gourmet cupcakes from Sam's Club. Multiple people asked where they were from because they were so good!

The pictures are for a guess the bridge and groom's age game. I had 6 pictures of each and a little game sheet for everyone to write their guesses on.

A mimosa bar is always necessary!

Stephanie, one of her bridesmaids was a huge help and brought delicious wraps and chicken salad croissants

Kimberly's sister made that awesome fruit platter!

Kimberly and I have been friends for 30 years, thanks to our moms!

Kimberly is Engaged!

About a month ago, Kimberly's boyfriend Chad asked us to help trick Kimberly so he could surprise her with a proposal. It was really sweet and she was super surprised! We were so glad to be a part of it. We had dinner plans together and secretly both of their families joined us.

We had a wonderful time celebrating the happy couple!

When I knew that they were getting engaged I decided to get my craft on. Plus, it's summer and I have time to spare :) So I headed to Target and made this cute little box of bridal goodies. I got the box at Target and then used my Silhouette to cut a label for it to say "future Mrs. Hunter" ... it turned out awesome.

Then I got 2 stemless wine glasses at Target also (their basic glassware is $1 each!) and etched them, one to say Mr. and one to say Mrs. We joked at dinner that in December when Chad graduates with his PhD I will have to make him one to say Dr. since it will be Dr & Mrs :)

I also pulled out an extra one of these ring dishes that I made for gifts at Christmas and used the Silhouette to cut a silver ring to put in her ring dish!

And bought a bridal magazine and (not pictured) the diamond dazzle stick to polish her shiny rock!

Baby Shower for my Bestie

Christy and Jonathan are having a baby boy in July and we can't wait! Trey and I are very excited to be "aunt and uncle" and get to play with him, have lots of fun... and then hand him back to his parents at night :)

We threw them a co-ed shower last weekend and it turned out great. Almost everyone invited was able to come and between this shower and one she had at work, they have been loaded up with almost everything they will need for the baby!

Inspired by a diaper cake I saw on pinterest. The first "present" I ordered baby Connor was these adorable Chuck Taylors. In full disclosure, Christy was helping while we were prepping at her house for the shower, she started rolling diapers, then ended up assembling the entire cake! For her own shower!

Cupcakes! Thankful that Jen Wilson came early to help me set up and decorate these! Otherwise we may have been eating cupcakes that were simply iced with a knife ;)

I ordered this print from etsy and had everyone sign one of the bubbles, it can then be framed for Connor's nursery

Also found on etsy, this candy guessing game. There were 270 M&Ms in the bottle, the winner guessed 281!

Made the banner myself with my awesome silhouette cameo, and Christy has been collecting her cards on the mantel for a while

One last "game" found on etsy, having guests write cute notes on the diapers

Then we had a competition, each person had to suck 2 ounces of beer out of the baby bottles, it is incredibly hard!

And opening tons of presents:

The first baby :)

We didn't get a good picture together until after the shower when we were exhausted and gross!

Food & drinks!

Christmas at the Beach

After our weekend in Atlanta, we headed back to Raleigh, grabbed the rest of our stuff and the dogs and headed to the beach to visit Trey's parents for the week.

When we got there Monday night we exchanged Christmas presents, since we didn't see them on Christmas. We spent a large majority of the week lounging around. It was so nice. I was afraid we would be so busy/stressed over break with so many plans and vacations but it was awesome to just go to the beach and hang out.

Tuesday we went shopping, part of Trey's Christmas present was to go shopping and get some new work clothes. After Christmas sales are the way to go!

Tuesday night we went to the Elks Lodge to play Bingo! It was a lot of fun, kind of stressful with so many cards and pretty entertaining. Some of those bingo players play multiple times a week and are pretty serious. Trey and I were so close to winning a couple of times but never did. BJ did win once, but so did 2 others at the same time so they had to split the pot.

Trey got an awesome Dogfish Head ceramic growler for Christmas so on New Years Eve we stopped by The Promiseland Market to fill the growler and have a drink.

We had a delicious New Years day dinner complete with black eyed peas and collards for good luck and money!

Aside from a walk on the beach, some more shopping and visiting family we didn't do much else! It was a nice break to relax before coming back to the grind.

Christmas

On Christmas Eve we decided to stay the night at my parents house, so Trey and I exchanged presents at our house before we left for the night. He got a new T-Rex shirt that he was pretty excited about :) And the dogs enjoyed opening gifts too. They love to stick their head in the gift bag in hopes that they can pull out a toy.

We had dinner at Mam-maws and then came home to enjoy a night-cap and some Christmas movies.

On Christmas morning mom made breakfast and then we opened gifts from each other and Santa.

Chad got Vegas a Panthers jersey and Tyson a sweater to match a Christmas sweater that Trey has.

Lucky had a lot of fun Christmas morning. This is his first Christmas since Chad adopted him, who knows what his life was like last Christmas, but I think it's probably way better now :)

We lounged around mid-day and then dad's side of the family came over Christmas night. We had a delicious dinner and enjoyed hanging out together.

It was a very nice, relaxing day.
