Holiday Adventures

We did a lot of fun activities to celebrate the holiday season this December

Got new kitchen Christmas decorations from Target and the small plates from Anthropologie

Trey and I went to see A Christmas Carol

Trey and I took mom and dad to do the Historic Oakwood Candlelight Tour. It was really cool to see and hear about all those homes. Since we were nearby, we stopped by Krispy Kreme on our way home, and saw this awesome decked out cab when we got there.

We borrowed a few blow ups from mom and dad to add some fun to our yard

I babysat Parker one night. He had a fun time watching Trey juggling and trying to learn himself :)

We took the dogs to Raleigh Brewing Company to get their picture with Santa. Tyson wasn't a fan of the big guy.

I made some hot cocoa cookies from scratch. They were delicious, but definitely took a while to make

We went to Andy's annual Christmas party. One of the games this year was a gingerbread house decorating competition. We got 2nd place

We went to the Chinese Lantern Festival at Koka Booth Amphitheater

And one of my favorites - drove around to see Christmas lights in people's yards

Trey's family came over to our house Christmas morning. We made breakfast bowls and opened presents. The dogs enjoyed trying to help open every present.

We all went to my parents' house for Christmas Dinner!

Christmas is over... time to decorate for winter!

Spring Break: Disney & a cruise!

During one of the many snowy days this winter, Trey and I decided we needed to head south to somewhere warm! We had been talking about taking a cruise for a couple of years now and decided that we would go on one for my spring break. We found one that left from Port Canaveral (a decent length drive so that we didn't have to fly). Since it was leaving from Port Canaveral (basically Orlando) we decided to stop in to Disney World and use old hopper passes that still have remaining days on them! :)

We got up before the sun on Saturday and made it to Orlando pretty easily. We checked in at our hotel - the Disney World Dolphin (they have teacher discounts!) and then walked to EPCOT.

It was rainy off and on throughout the day. At one point we hid from the rain in Mexico enjoying a passionfruit margarita. Sidenotes - passion fruit is my new favorite flavor.

The Flower and Garden Festival is such a beautiful time in EPCOT.

 A butterfly house!

 Riding Spaceship Earth

We hopped the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom to continue our evening.

Sunday morning we had brunch at Boma, a brunch buffett at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The buffet was pretty delicious but it was so packed. I didn't really think about the fact that it was Easter when I scheduled our brunch reservation, so the restaurant was busier than normal, and we had to wait a little while longer than we anticipated but at least we could walk around the grounds and try to find some animals out roaming. And our meal included a mimosa!

After brunch we hit the road to Port Canaveral!
Check back later for posts recapping our cruise!

January Fun

Life really calms down after the holidays but we still had a few fun things going on.

We had a date night to see Book of Mormon at the DPAC. It was hilarious!

We went to Christy and Jonathan's for dinner one night and the boys watched The Revnant. I was glad Trey had someone else to watch it with him other than me.  Vegas enjoyed hanging out with Connor.

We had game night at Mariah & Greg's

Lots of snuggles and frisbee time

For Christy's 30th birthday we did a paint & drink party at Artistic Abandon and then went back to their house for pizza and Goodberry's. Such a fun night

We got a Boston Butt on sale and Trey cooked it for the first Panthers playoff game
