This and That

Some random fun this we did this fall....

Kimberly & Chad's Engagement Party!

The fair with Christy & Jonathan. Jonathan decided to try peanut butter & jelly wings. Not very yummy.

Watching the Panthers kick some butt

NCSU Football games and celebrating Dr. Chad completing his PhD!

Trey won the chili cookoff at Christy & Jonathan's!

Trey cooked some deer meat that a coworker gave him. Christy, Jonathan & Connor joined us for dinner. Connor is ready to eat meat!

Jennifer & Rick got a nice, new firepit installed and we grilled on it. Delicious!

We went to Andy's one evening and had Devonshire sandwiches - turkey sandwiches with bacon and cheese sauce! I also made a brownie oreo triffle I found on pinterest and it was amazing! I will share the recipe soon.

And most recently Vegas had surgery to take off another mast cell tumor :( She did a great job though, the day after surgery she bounced back to normal. She just can't run for 2 weeks, until the stitches come out since it was on her leg.

Back to the Grind

Back to school means back to our busy fall fun... football, dinner with friends, enjoying time outside as it cools down.

We had dinner with Trey's family at Bida Manda one night to celebrate lots of promotions!

Trey works from home 1-2 days a week so we decided to change my craft area into a legit office for him. It's in the guest room so the dogs enjoy hanging out on the bed while he works. I bought a new rug to go next to the bed and now Vegas thinks she's young again and will jump up on the bed!

Busy Spring Weekend!

We had a very busy but fun weekend. It was gorgeous weather, so great for lots of outdoor fun. Friday night we grilled out with some of Trey's co-workers.

Saturday was the spring football game. During the quarter change they honored Russell Wilson and put his number on the wall of Vaughan Towers.

After the game we headed to Falls Lake Holly Point campground to go camping! I will post more about that tomorrow :)

Sunday morning we woke up bright and early to the sun and birds chirping. We broke everything down and packed up the car to head downtown to see Allison and Christy running in the Rock n Roll Half/Full Marathon.

Allison did a great job on her first half marathon!

About 45 minutes after Allison finished the half, Christy got to the finish of the full marathon. She finished 26.2 miles in 3 hours, 8 minutes! She was the 3rd place female. She has been training by running an insane amount of miles each week and I am super proud of her for getting a new PR.

We had to check out the "after party" concert area to pick up the plaque that Christy got for placing.

After the race we went to get brunch at Busy Bee. I had their Juevos Rancheros.... oh. my. gosh. So good. You must go try them!

After we got home from the race and brunch Trey laid sod! We have a large dirt area in our backyard from the dogs running out the door to the other corner and all of their playing, and the lack of sun that we get there. We have tried to seed it before, successfully gotten tiny little sprouts only to have the dogs demolish it again. So this time we are putting down sod (Bermuda, it's dormant that's why its brown right now!) and keeping the dogs out of that part of the yard until it is secure.

In order to do that we have added a new doggie door, the start of it is pictured below:

Vegas is excited for her nice back-scratching grass.

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break was packed full of family, food and fun. We headed to the mountains to Uncle Tom's Cabin for a couple of days to enjoy Thanksgiving with my dad's side of the family. The traffic leaving town Wednesday afternoon was TERRIBLE but we finally made it to the snow covered mountains :) We spent most of Thursday lounging around and enjoying each other's company.

Lounging around in 2013... smart phones and gadgets in everyone's hands
We headed to a tree lot up the road to buy Christmas trees straight from the ground! They were an awesome deal and it was really fun to go around and pick out our own tree from exactly where they grew.

The also had wreaths for $1/inch

Strapped on tight to make it back to Raleigh the next day.

This huge tree was only $40!

Then we started preparing the feast... our marshmallows have failed us over the last few years, we were excited they didn't disappear this time!

Such a fun couple of days. These 2 had a blast running around in the snow... they slept the whole way home.

Friday afternoon Trey and I put up our tree and prepared for Friendgiving that was being held at our house that night. Come back tomorrow for that post :)

Saturday was the last NCSU football game of the season. It has been a rough season but tailgating and enjoying time with our friends is always fun!
Tyson was really excited about them throwing the frisbee to play kanjam

We just decided to enjoy the game from the heat of the RV

After the football game was a basketball game so we headed in to the PNC arena for that! Long day of cheering on the pack!

Sunday was full of laundry, beer brewing and Christmas shopping and before we knew it we were back to work.
