Baked Ziti

This ziti recipe came from my mom, but I think originally from a Mueller's Ziti box! It's pretty good and serves 8-10! Or in my case plenty of left overs.

What You Need:
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
1 tsp minced garlic
1 jar pasta sauce (26 to 30oz)
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 tsp dried oregano
16 oz Ziti
15 oz Ricotta cheese
2 cups Mozzarella cheese (divided into 1 cup sections)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

What You Do:Cook ziti according to package.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In large pan, heat oil. Add onion and garlic, stirring frequently. Cook until onion is relatively soft. Add ground beer and cook until it is done. Drain and return to pan.
Stir in pasta sauce, tomato sauce and oregano. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.

Mix together sauce mixture with ziti noodles.

Spoon half of ziti mixture to the bottom of 13x9 pan. Top with 1 cup mozzarella cheese and ricotta cheese.

Add the rest of the ziti mixture.

Bake, covered, for 20 minutes.

Remove from oven, top with remaining 1 cup mozzarella and 1/2 cup Parmesan.

Bake uncovered for 10 minutes or until heated through.

*Note: if you want to prepare ahead and freeze this, prepare the same as above, but do not bake. Cover with foil and freeze. Do not thaw. It will need to bake for about 1 hour or until heated through.
