Saturday morning we had an appointment to get Vegas's eye checked by the vet at mom & dad's house. She has a scratch on her eye (it seems to happen at least once a year now) and it is slowly healing. It was a such a beautiful morning that after our appointment we decided to head out towards the lake for a nice little walk through the woods. The dogs love to run ahead of us and find the lake. We let them play, swim and chase sticks for a while then continued walking around the lake a little further. They were exhausted from their fun morning.
Saturday afternoon I went to a "Tea Time" bridal shower for Kristen at the Olde English Tea Room in Wake Forest. It was really cute and fun. We each got to pick a hat out of the box that they had there and enjoyed scones, little sandwiches and tea followed by Kristen opening some nice gifts.
After the shower we headed to Rudino's where Jonathan was playing a gig. We played corn hole & enjoyed the nice weather before the rain headed in later that night.
Sunday I had another bridal shower to go to! Brenna's sister, Amy, is getting married the week before Kristen and had her shower this weekend too. We were put in to teams and had to create toilet paper wedding gowns so of course Mariah & I chose to dress up Brenna. She didn't win but we loved her look, especially the pig tails.
Sunday night Trey and I made tacos for dinner and enjoyed a beer flight. We found this paddle and glasses at Target in the dollar spot. They are 5 oz glasses and a pretty sturdy paddle. We filled it with our homebrews, one was our most recent, Whitewash Wit, another was the Wit that had been put into a bottle with yeast remaining from a previous brew and the third was the American Wheat we made last time. We only had 3 we wanted to use but still filled the fourth glass :)
We finished the night by giving Trey a haircut! He got new clippers and it had instructions about how to cut it leaving a little more on top, the look he was going for. It was pretty funny along the way because we typically just put on a blade and go at his whole head but this time I had to progressively go up and thought it looked funny with the shaggy-ness still left on top. It turned out pretty good, although I didn't snap and "after" pictures!
