Kimberly found this condo on vrbo.com... it was great! It had just the space we needed, was gorgeous and in an awesome location. We were just down the street from The Lady & Sons (Paula Deen's restaurant), about 1/4 mile from the river and right in the middle of a lot of shopping. Kimberly, Christy & I got there before everyone else to get the condo decorated and prep food for dinner.
We decided to do dinner in the condo Friday night (a bunch of appetizers for everyone to nibble on). Here are a few shots of our spread:
Before heading out, Kristen opened the first of her goodies for the weekend... a basket full of newlywed needs... thank you notes, S notepad, ornament, signs and a cup that we could use to carry around for the weekend that read "Kristen's Last Fling Before the Ring"
Friday night we went on a ghost tour of Savannah. We had looked at a couple of different companies that do ghost tours but right before we went there was a groupon available, so we decided to give that one a try. I don't know what I was thinking the ghost tour would be... but it wasn't the best thing I've ever done. It was still pretty entertaining, although not believable or scary (in my opinion). The tour was about 2 hours, again open container friendly, and we stopped halfway through to refill our drinks!
Saturday we had breakfast at the condo, fruit along with my breakfast casserole, before heading out for the day to do some shopping and exploring Savannah. We shopped around on Broughton street, checked out the Paula Deen store, grabbed a drink at Wet Willy's and perused River Street.
We went to dinner at Jazz'd a tapas restaurant, which was pretty good. The tapas were surprisingly large/heavy. Then we headed to Savannah Smiles, a piano bar. It was a lot of fun! We sat close to the stage and were invited up a few times so that everyone could join in the bachelorette fun.
It was also Easter weekend, so some people were out in full blown costumes... we hung out with the Easter bunny for a while.. he was pretty entertaining and had a great costume!
We stayed at the piano bar for quite a while but later headed to a club so that we could dance the night away. We had a great time and were all exhausted with tired feet by the end of the night...
Sunday morning we originally planned to get up and head to brunch. However, we realized that it was Easter morning and probably tons of people had the same idea... along with the fact that we assumed the drive home would be pretty terrible and we were exhausted. So we nixed the idea of brunch and just said our goodbyes and headed home. It was a good thing we did... it took us over 6 hours to get home (should have been 5) and there was a really bad wreck on (95 near Lumberton, not long after we passed through they ended up shutting down the highway for a bit).
All in all I'd say it was a great bachelorette weekend!
